UCSI ALUMNI’S NEW INITIATIVE RECEIVED GOOD FEEDBACK

Kuala Lumpur, 15 October 2011 - The UCSI Alumni’s Lifelong Learning Talk 1: Know Thyself, Know thy Job and Win all Work Place Challenges was successfully held at south wing featuring Ms Kim Mori who has more than 17 years corporate experience helping companies and individuals find job and person right-fit using psycho-profiling tools. Ms Mori gave an interesting presentation on the DISC Personality Assessment tool, a tool used to determine human behavior.

Ms Mori’s passion in helping young graduates find a fulfilling job which maximizes their true potential was clearly seen in her personal approach, by delving into each alumni and student’s profile and connecting each participant to their respective choice of career and current course after getting them to do a simple profiling that not only benefits them professionally but also personally. Participants walked away feeling more assured of themselves and their capabilities.

Victoria Grace John Rowan - a student in her final year of studies felt that the talk was productive and gave her a head start on the key ingredients needed to pave a successful career and personal life. Another participant and current student Chong Siew Ling was very grateful to have attended such an interesting talk and stated that “I discovered my weaknesses and strength from this talk, enabling me to improve myself”. Lawrence Kean - an alumnus of UCSI University felt that the talk was very beneficial as it enabled him to not only discover areas of improvement in his professional life but also in his personal life. Augustine Soo and Alex Loh, both first year foundation studies students felt that they were relieved to learn from their profiling that their choice of study matches well with their personality. “I have been given the DISC test before, but it was not thoroughly explained to me, and the implications discussed as personally to me as Ms Mori. I am glad I came to this talk, and will not miss future Life Long Learning Talks the Alumni Network organizes using experts from the industry – I learned something different from what is taught in the classroom” Alex said.
