KUALA LUMPUR, 12 June 2007 (Tuesday) - University College Sedaya International (UCSI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sdn. Bhd.

The MoU was signed by UCSI’s Vice President of Research, Student and Corporate Affairs, Professor Dr. Norfadzillah bt. Hitam and Sdn. Bhd.’s Vice President, Mr. Simon Si

“We believe that pre-employment experience is important and that students do need to be exposed to the job-seeking process even before they graduate,” said Mr. Simon Si. Professor Dr. Norfadzillah agreed and said, “This collaboration will create a powerful channel exclusively for UCSI students and alumni to deposit their resumes and seek jobs online.”This collaboration will see an exclusive portal being set-up by Sdn. Bhd. for UCSI students and alumni. The portal will allow the deposit of resumes, obtaining up-to-date information on the current job market as well as instant job application and job application tracking. This portal is also linked to UCSI’s own myCo-Op Portal which is the portal that captures UCSI’s Co-Operative Programmes and Activities. The Co-Operative (Co-Op) Education Programme at UCSI is implemented to formally integrate classroom learning with workplace training in co-operative employer organisations. It is complusory for all UCSI degree programme students to complete a co-operative module comprising two months of work experience every year of their studies, beginning from Year One to their final year.
This collaboration between UCSI and is seen as a strategic one for both parties as UCSI has a current population of some 6,000 students while helped fill up 16,000 jobs in 2006 alone.
