Kuching, 02 February 2012 - UCSI University Sarawak Campus is currently conducting its January 2012 GCE A-Levels Examination concurrently with other Edexcel centres worldwide.

The students have been putting in their best efforts towards the preparation for the exam with their lecturers through practice exercises and past year questions. The evident presence of individual student efforts are seen throughout the campus in the form of study groups of students revising together.

More and more students are taking A-Levels as the first move towards furthering their studies in various fields in universities worldwide. Taking the programme as a stepping stone is a preferred choice as the London GCE A-Levels, recognized worldwide, acts as an International ticket for those who wish to further their tertiary education at any part of the world.

With full recognition from the United Kingdom Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation by Edexcel International, UCSI University offers London Examinations Modular GCE A-Levels in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. In view of this, many UCSI University A-Levels alumni have pursued their studies in various science and medical fields in several countries including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Australia as well as India and most of them are now back to render their services to the local society as doctors, engineers, pharmacists, dentists and other professionals.

The GCE A-Levels programme offered at UCSI University is different from many others as this eighteen months programme is flexible, allowing students to take up only two modules out of six per semester, which allows students to gain deeper understanding and extensive preparation for their exams. Examinations are taken in a modular manner, meaning students are not just tested comprehensively at the end of the term. Each module covers specific areas of the whole syllabus and students are expected to apply the knowledge learned in the Subsidiary Level (AS) within the subsequent module in the Advanced Level (A2).

The greater flexibility of the Edexcel A-Levels allows students to re-sit any module in improving their overall grades in each of the subjects. In fact, UCSI University Sarawak Campus has always maintained a very high passing rate every year with over 20% of the students scoring straight As in their GCE A-Levels examinations.
