UCSI WINS SPECIAL MITI AWARDS


KUALA LUMPUR, Monday 19 March 2007 - UCSI (University College Sedaya International) was a proud winner of the Special Award for Quality Management recently. 

It was one of 32 companies which were recognized for their achievements at the Industrial Excellence Award 2006. 

The other companies which received similar awards in this category were Masasinar Holdings Sdn. Bhd., Indkom Engineering Sdn. Bhd., NXP Semiconductors Malaysia, Robert Bosch (M) Sdn. Bhd and Bursa Malaysia Bhd. 

Receiving the award from the Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Rafidah Aziz were UCSI’s Chairman of University Council, Dato' Hj. Mohd. Karim bin H. Abdullah Omar and Vice President of Research and Corporate Affairs, Professor Dr. Norfadzillah bte. Hitam.

“We are pleased with what we have achieved,” Dato’ Karim said. “It is indeed another milestone for UCSI. As in the past, UCSI continues with its tradition of winning awards from various governmental and non-governmental organizations. By winning this award, we have indeed proven ourselves as a centre of learning excellence.”

UCSI’s past accolades include the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Export Excellence Award for Services (2004) and the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia Human Resources Minister Award (2003).

The award was given to UCSI based on its excellent management in the higher education industry. In addition, the award was also given to recognize organizational excellence and the production of quality products and services. 

This is the sixteenth year such event is jointly-organized by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and the National Productivity Centre.
