Twenty-seven students and lecturers from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland visited UCSI University to share knowledge on sustainability and how it is being practised and advocated at UCSI.
Led by exploreASEAN for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), the theme of the talk is “Shaping the future with renewable energy and automation”. During the event, Mr Leong Sat Sing, Vice President of UCSI’s SDG Secretariat Office, introduced them to UCSI and Professor Dato’ Dr Ahmad Bin Ibrahim, FASc, an exco member of Tan Sri Omar Centre for STI Policy Studies - UCSI University, shared on the need for SDGs to avert climate change. In addition, UCSI’s Chief Information Officer, James Thang, shared technologies' usage and function for campus operations and administrations. Assistant Professor Alex Teng, from the Centre of Excellence for Research, Value Innovation and Entrepreneurship, spoke about the Low Carbon Innovation Hub and how to reduce carbon footprints.
