Nation building is about developing the nation to be a harmonious, progressive, prosperous and sustainable country. It is about mitigating the risks involved and harnessing the opportunities. Over the years, the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) has been providing strategic advice on science for the nation and its role in inspiring innovation is widely recognised. This talk by Professor Emerita Datuk Dr Asma Ismail, FASc, President, Academy of Sciences Malaysia and STI Advisor to the Government deliberates on the many challenges science face in supporting the country’s nation building agenda, now and in the future. The talk would hopefully ignite fresh ideas to further strengthen the nation’s science ecosystem and progress.
UCSI University, in collaboration with AIRBUS, organised the AIRBUS and Sustainable Development Goals talk for our students and staff. It was indeed an informative industrial talk by Raymond Lim, AIRBUS Chief Representative of Malaysia. At the same event, our students also had the opportunity to learn more about careers at AIRBUS.
Over 150 students and staff attended the event held at UCSI University's Kuala Lumpur campus.
Through this MoU, UCSI reaffirms the long partnership with Prudential, with modalities of cooperation and types of activities to include:
- Supporting the development and promotion of TEE-Up, Prudential’s talent engagement ecosystem platform;
- Collaborating on the Prudential Young Trailblazers – Global University open innovation competition.
Together in the ceremony virtually were Prudential’s Mr Lee Boon Huat, Chief Digital Officer, Ms Jolene Chen, Group HR Director, Ms Magdalene Loh, Head of Innovation, and Ms Josila Hasbullah, Assistant Director, Innovation & People Experience, who was physically at the UCSI Campus witnessing the signing by Mr Sheikh Fahmy, Vice-President (Strategy) of UCSI University.
UCSI University received special recognition for its contribution in making the surge of international students a success (atas sumbangan dalam menjayakan lonjakan pelajar antarabangsa) at an appreciation of higher education ceremony held by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)- (Majlis Apresiasi Pendidikan Tinggi 2022- #KPTPrihatin), on 3 November 2022. At the ceremony, UCSI was also recognised for making the #KPTPrihatin aspirations initiative a reality through the Vaccination Centres (PPV). The certificates were given by the Minister of Higher Education, YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad to UCSI Group CEO and UCSI University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, FASc at The Katerina Hotel, Batu Pahat, Johor.
Heartfelt gratitude and sincere congratulations to all 13 FRGS recipients and their team members. This is an inspiration to all UCSI academic staff to move forward in applying for other local and international research grant opportunities.
70 students from FPT University, Vietnam recently completed the 1-month Intensive English Programme at UCSI University. The fully immersive English programme benefitted and was appreciated by all of them evidenced by their testimonies at the Closing Ceremony.

The highly acclaimed seminar raised the awareness to promote active participation from different stakeholders towards building an inclusive and sustainable industry by encouraging public-private collaboration in R&D&C&I. It was graced by the Guest of Honour, YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed (Minister in Prime Minister’s Department – Economy)
De Institute of Creative Arts and Design (ICAD) of UCSI University has collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Malaysia (MOTAC) to launch the inaugural 2023 “We Share the Same Moon” Calendar and Art Exhibition. 365 local artists from various associations in every state have collaborated with UCSI University’s ICAD lecturers and students to create a unique calendar depicting daily moon phases during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
With the MoU officially signed, it marked the beginning of a collaborative relationship between UCSI University and Razak School of Government.
In conjunction with this event, UCSI hosted a forum on Sustainable Higher Learning Education Communities in the Post Pandemic Era, with the Razak School of Government. The panelists were (i) Dr Hj Mohamad Kamal Hj Harun, Chief Executive Officer, Razak School of Government, (ii) Distinguished Professor Tan Sri Dr Zakri Bin Abdul Hamid, Director of Institute of Science Diplomacy and Sustainability, UCSI University and (iii) Professor Dato’ Dr Ahmad Bin Ibrahim, Coordinator of Tan Sri Omar STI Centre for Policy Studies
UCSI received delegations from Trisakti University Indonesia led by Prof. Dr. Kadarsah Suryadi (Rector) with three other delegates namely Mr. Heru Sanusi (Vice Rector on Student Affairs), Dr. Agus Guntoro (Director of International Affairs, International Office) and Dr. Amalia Zuhra (Head of International Affairs, International Office). The fruitful discussion for collaboration paved the way for the MoU signing which consolidated the endeavours for research and academic exchanges between both universities. UCSI University discussion members were headed by Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, Vice – Chancellor and Professor Datuk Dr Rohana Binti Yusof, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Internationalisation.
