Congratulations to Associate Professor Dr Cheah Shiau Chuen and Dr Siak Pui Yan from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for successfully publishing an impactful article titled “Current Status and Future Perspectives about Molecular Biomarkers of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma” in the Cancers (Q1, IF 6.639).

The article gives an insight to readers on the progress of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma biomarker discovery to date, as well as future prospective biomarker development and their translation to clinical use.

This research was supported by Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS/1/2020/SKK0/UCSI/02/2) and UCSI University Research Excellence and Innovation (REIG-FMS-2020/009).

Congratulations to Associate Professor Dr Cheah Shiau Chuen for successfully publishing an impactful article in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (IJMS).

The article titled “Understanding Lung Carcinogenesis from a Morphostatic Perspective: Prevention and Therapeutic Potential of Phytochemicals for Targeting Cancer Stem Cells” provides a comprehensive overview of how normal lung tissues operate in relation with lung carcinogenesis to redefine better targets for lung cancer stem cells.

This paper was a result of an international collaboration with University Medical Centre of Groningen (UMCG), Netherlands.

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Dr Tan Chung Keat from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for successfully publishing an impactful article in the Scientific Reports.

The research article entitled “Effect of tiger milk mushroom (Lignosus rhinoserus) supplementation on respiratory health, immunity and antioxidant status: an open-label prospective study” reported that supplementation of tiger milk mushroom (TMM) significantly (p<0.05) suppressed the level of interleukin 1β, interleukin 8, malondialdehyde, and respiratory symptoms.

This research was conducted in collaboration with Nexus Wise Sdn. Bhd., Selangor, Malaysia.
