Organised by the Student Enrolment Centre, the event strengthened collaborations with key partners, including government agencies, corporate organisations and international representatives, fostering a supportive educational ecosystem to help students excel academically and personally.
UCSI University marked International Women’s Day 2025 with a powerful call to action for gender equality, featuring Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and UCSI vice-chancellor Prof Emerita Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir. Highlighting alarming statistics from the World Economic Forum and Malaysia Gender Gap Index, the speakers emphasised the urgency of collective efforts across education, industry and government to overcome systemic barriers and biases. The event also showcased creativity and empowerment through a partnership with SODA and Voir Group, where 114 students and staff upcycled t-shirts into innovative designs for a fashion show celebrating female empowerment.
UCSI University hosted the 13th Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Research Day and 15th NPCSM Annual Meeting, bringing together experts from across Malaysia. Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is a rare type of cancer that develops in the nasopharynx, the upper part of the throat behind the nose. NPC often presents with subtle symptoms that can be easily overlooked, such as a painless lump in the neck, hearing problems or nasal issues. To drive research and awareness, the university held six insightful symposiums covering cutting-edge developments in NPC, featuring speakers from the Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Society of Malaysia, NEXTGENE Scientific Sdn Bhd, and various universities.
Leading figures from the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and Akademi Profesor Malaysia convened at UCSI University to discuss pathways for Malaysia’s sustainable development beyond 2025. The high-impact forum themed Malaysia Beyond 2025 – Towards a Sustainable and Resilient Society, focused on key areas including ESG-driven policies for manufacturing, fiscal resilience, green transition financing and integrating ESG principles into the economic framework.
UCSI, in collaboration with ProQuest, hosted the ESG Learning Festival 2025 to empower students and professionals in adopting Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) values in both academic and professional spheres.
UCSI University and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) have signed a landmark five-year MoU to co-host the Asean Centre for Science Diplomacy, positioning Malaysia as a regional hub for advancing evidence-based policymaking. Both parties will also work together on the joint Master’s programme on Foresight, the first of its kind in the Global South.
UCSI University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Kurnia Jaya Persada, marking a new chapter in transnational collaboration between the two institutions. This MoU allows the universities to explore potential collaborations in curriculum development, joint research and student exchange initiatives, particularly since both institutions have similar key academic disciplines that align within their focus areas. This paves the way in strengthening academic growth, research advancements and global exposure for both organisations.
UCSI University welcomed over 900 new students at its Orientation Day for the February 2025 intake. The event was officiated by our vice-chancellor and president, Prof Emerita Datuk Ts Ir Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir, with our deputy vice-chancellors in attendance.
UCSI University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tianjin Conservatory of Music, marking a new chapter in transnational collaboration in music education between the two institutions. This MoU opens up numerous opportunities for collaboration - including cultural exchange, talent development and academic research. In conjunction with the signing, UCSI University Institute of Music and Tianjin Conservatory of Music jointly presented a Music Art Culture Exchange concert, where the event attracted an audience of over 500 and offered a unique experience showcasing the fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions.
UCSI University warmly welcomed esteemed delegates from the Republic of Uzbekistan in a meeting aimed at fostering stronger academic ties between Malaysia and Uzbekistan. A key outcome of the meeting is the establishment of a consortium that will serve as a strategic bridge between UCSI University and leading universities in Uzbekistan. The visit marks a significant step forward towards strengthening international partnerships that will benefit students and educators from both nations.
