The academic journal ranks as Q1 in Journal Percentile Ranking (Top 10% journal) in the field of Public, Enviromental and Occupational Health with an impact factor of 6.818 (2018), according to the ISI Web of Science ranking by Clarivate Analytics.
The article titled "Fostering local production of essential medicines in Nigeria" explains how regulatory changes are designed to increase local production of essential medicines in Nigeria, thus ensuring predictable and sustainable access to affordable and quality-assured essential medicines and strengthening the domestic pharmaceutical industry.

Assistant Professor Dr Ashok has more than 12 years of experience in pharmaceutical product development research, mainly in solubility enhancement for poorly soluble drugs through various approaches.

The 19th Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) Innovation Award 2020 was held from 20 to 22 February 2020. A team of researchers from the UCSI University’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences participated in the expo by exhibiting its innovation called ‘Cocoa Butter: A Healthier Alternative to Fast Melt Tablets’. The researchers for this innovation were Dr Ashok Kumar Janakiraman, Pearly Chia Zhi Qing, Dr. Shiek Abdul Kadhar Mohamed Ebrahim Habibur, Associate Professor Dr Mogana Sundari Rajagopal, and Dr. Liew Kai Bin.
