Biography

Dr. Aladin Mahmod Ibrahim has been in tourism and hospitality academia for more than a decade. He started his teaching career in tertiary education at Joji Ilagan International School of Hotel and Tourism Management in General Santos City, Philippines, from 2013–2023, where he held positions such as course coordinator, academic chair, and coordinator for research and publication. His dedication and commitment towards teaching leadership and excellence is reflected in several awards and recognitions he received from this institution, including: Model Teacher of the Year, Top 1 Faculty, Most Consistent Professor, Faculty Member with the Highest Performance Evaluation Points, Research Teaching Integration Award, and 10 Years Employee Service Award.

Dr. Ibrahim completed his Doctor of Management in Human Resource Management (DM-HRM) degree from Ateneo de Davao University. He obtained his Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Notre Dame of Marbel University and his Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSc) from Sultan Kudarat State University.

Prior to joining academia in 2013, he was selected as one of the recipients of an internship program sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and completed the restaurant management training program at KFC Philippines in Cebu City, Philippines in 2012. He was able to complete a two-year language training program specializing in international English for travel and tourism through the Job Enabling English Proficiency program jointly delivered by Sultan Kudarat State University and USAID. His knowledge and skills in event planning and management were well honed through the various academic and industry events he organized and chaired.

He also received several professional certifications and designations. He is a Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP) by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (USA), a Certified Hospitality Professional by the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Professionals (UK), and has earned designations such as Certified Publons (Web of Science) Academy Peer Reviewer and Elsevier Certified Peer Reviewer.

He is a research consultant, international peer reviewer, and journal editor, and has published research articles in one of the top-ranked international journals: the Journal of Human Resources in Hospitality and Tourism (USA). He has also published his research articles in the Journal of Tourism, Hospitality, and Culinary Arts (Malaysia), the International Journal of Management, Innovation, & Entrepreneurial Research (India), the Journal of Tourism Quarterly (USA), the Journal of Hospitality (USA), and the Journal of Halal Product and Research (Indonesia).
