The 27th National Secondary School Mandarin Debate Tournament kicked off at UCSI University, bringing together 18 secondary school debate teams from across Malaysia for three days of rigorous competition.
This annual tournament serves as a platform to nurture critical thinking, confidence and public speaking skills among secondary school students, while promoting Mandarin language proficiency and constructive dialogue on pressing topics.
UCSI University hosted Dato' Shamsul Najmi Shamsuddin, Minister Counsellor from the Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo. The session provided valuable insight into the challenges and prospects of the Egyptian Educational system. Dato' Shamsul also invited the UCSI team to visit Egypt soon.
UCSI University held a workshop on 'Pembudayaan Keseronokan Bekerja Sektor Awam' for officers of the Special Branch of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM). The workshop was a strategic initiative aimed at fostering a positive, healthy and sustainable work culture, while also supporting public sector officers particularly those in high-pressure and high-profile roles by promoting work-life balance, resilience and professional well-being.
UCSI University proudly hosted the media launch of the ACS EDU Tour Season 4. The event launches with Honor of Kings, Google Play’s Best Game of 2024 in Southeast Asia, as the game chosen for this year's tournament. UCSI's own Honor of Kings esports team will be participating in the tournament for a chance at the coveted semi-professional contract with CRIT Esports. The event also highlighted UCSI’s growing role in shaping a sustainable esports ecosystem through education, innovation and talent development.
UCSI University proudly hosted the ink painting exhibition, showcasing a remarkable collection of Chinese ink artworks by students from Tsinghua University. The exhibition featured both traditional and contemporary pieces, reflecting the depth and versatility of Chinese ink painting. The event attracted students, academics and art enthusiasts, offering a platform for artistic appreciation and cultural exchange. It served as a bridge between Malaysian and Chinese creative communities, strengthening ties through shared artistic values and mutual respect.
Malaysia’s push towards a circular economy will fall short without stronger, more structured collaboration between the government, industry and academia, said experts at a high-level forum hosted by UCSI University. Themed Malaysia Towards a Circular Economy: The Critical Role of Research and Technology, the forum brought together leaders from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation, and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers.
