The Harmony and Unity Week is launched by UCSI to promote national unity and social harmony as desired and inspired by the Rukun Negara, based on the principles of collective responsibility and the consistency paradigm.
In conjunction with Harmony and Unity Week, UCSI, together with its partners, organised various activities and programmes.
3919 students officially participated in a procession at the convocation ceremony in the presence of UCSI University’s Pro-Chancellor, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz; Council Chairman, Dato’ Peter Ng; and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ir Ts Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, FASc, and witnessed by the audience of graduating students and their family members.
A delegation of 47 members from Universitas Warmadewa, Indonesia visited UCSI University, headed by Dr. Anak Agung Gede Oka Wisnumurti, Head of Korpri Bali Foundation and I Nyoman Kaca Vice, Rector of Warmadewa University. The collaboration discussion with UCSI’s FETBE (Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Built Environment) was chaired by Prof Datuk Dr. Rohana Binti Yusof, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Internationalisation and assisted by Distinguished Professor Dr Phang Siew Moi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Postgraduate.
To introduce UCSI University as the best choice to study in Malaysia, UCSI University (UCSI)'s key Indonesian partner, Central International Education (CIE), and UCSI's Student Enrolment Centre (SEC) welcomed a friendly visit from Indonesia. The study tour involved 20 high school students (Year 11 and Year 12) with their accompanying teacher from SMA Santo Yosef, a private secondary school from Bangka Belitung Province, Indonesia.
Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia visited UCSI University to discuss on collaboration in the areas of design, attended by DVC Prof Dr. Rohana Yusof, Assoc Prof Dr. Luqman Lee (Director ICAD), Prof. Dr. Nangkula Utaberta (SABE). The ITS delegates were headed by Dr Imam Baihaqi, the Dean and Dr Ellya Zulaikha, the Vice Dean.
HTMi Switzerland, a renown dual degree partner for the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, visited UCSI University to strengthen the collaboration with discussion on internship opportunities at HTMi, mobility arrangement for the dual degree and research initiative. Jack Iveson, Head of Academics and Mahen Sankaran, Regional Manager (Asia), represented HTMi Switzerland.
World Pharmacists Day is celebrated to appreciate pharmacists around the world and to advocate the various roles pharmacists play in improving public health in the medical field. This event was organised by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. In the conjunction with the celebration, twelve of the students have been selected for their excellency in academics and awarded The Book Prize Award by five renowned industry partners (Big Pharmacy, EP Plus Group Sdn Bhd, Xepa-Soul Pattison, Caring Pharmacy and Medispec Sdn Bhd).
De Institute of Creative Arts & Designs students showcased their final year collections at the PIVOT 2022 Graduation fashion show at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. The fashion show was held to commemorate the graduation of ICAD students from the classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022.
The Breadboard team at UCSI University hosted Andrew Chong from UPledge and two other start-up founders, Haaziq Ibrahim from Brique #DemiLaut: Modernizing Traditional Fisheries and Dr Haniza Yon from GFI-Fintech as they spoke about their impact vision and answered some challenging questions while eating spicy noodles.
UCSI University welcomed the visit of a delegation from the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in Malaysia, led by Ms. Mariyam Mizna Shareef, Charge d’ Affaires / Deputy High Commissioner. The visit was to strengthen the relationship between the Maldives Embassy and UCSI University and to further discuss the education opportunities and supports for the Maldivian community. The delegation also spent some time meeting some of the Maldivian students at UCSI University.
